On his first visit to the U.S. Matti came to the '00 X Games and made the finals. This is his third year of competition. Smooth skills and a large repertoire of tricks make up for Matti's lack of contest experience. Interview in Cream #9 november 2000. I'm Matti Röse. 2004 | 2004 Berlin City Games. Matti Rose, www.fatbmx.com, september 2005: In 2004, Jens Werner (Manager of the Mellow Park in Berlin and the nicest person in Bizznizz) and me went to a meeting about the possibility to organize an event in the famous "Palast der Republik" (former DDR politician headquarter). We both came up with the idea to organize a flatland event and found each other with the same attitudes. We came in contact and since this time we are partners in crime. After that we decided to give the riders and the crowd what they really want and treat them right. For me as a Flatlander I also wanted to give something back for what I got. After all, I have to say it was all by chance that we organized this first event . The first one totally blew us away. We never thought it would be such a success. We had such a nice atmosphere, good riders, crazy crowd, wild party and only smiling faces. What else can I say. It was better than we ever thought. By the way thanks for everyone who joined us. It wouldn't be the same without your appearance and help. After all I thought that it also was a good experience to come in contact with Jens, because we always respected each other's ideas and experiences . |

2005 | Turn2 flatland shows. Matti Rose, www.fatbmx.com, september 2005: Frank Lukas and me started this little project, because we often got some calls for riding shows for this and that company or event. We are really sick about this bullshit marketing or promotion agencies who do not know anything about our sport and treat us like little kids. Of course we are also money hungry riders who want to be able to pay more than only the rent of their flats at the end of the month. It is all very small and in the beginning, but we want to be a fair platform for the pro riders to offer their skills to interested people or companies and get also a fair salary for their shows or commercials. For us it is also important to show flatland to the interested people how we see it. It is definitely not about promoting ourselves or give us a certain image via an internet appearance. 10th place pro flat @ 2005 Masters, KÖLN, Jugendpark 23. bis 26. Juni 2005. 2005 Berlin City Games. Matti Rose is at the helm of yet another 'City Games' flatland comp in the great city of Berlin.
