1981 | ROCK WALK. Dave Nourie, www.fatbmx.com, may 2010: In 1981 at the age of 16 my life was changed when I saw this kid do a rock-walk on his BMX bike and from that day on all I could think about was how I could play, ride and make up tricks on my 20" bike. I lived to ride..to the beach..around town..in jam circles, and to practice my new found expression. |

1985 | GUMBY. Dave Nourie: I invented this trick after seeing Robert Peterson do the "Peterson" a no footer in the same postion while holding the front break. I had no front break at the time. So, I came up with this. Dave Nourie, www.facebook.com, august 2012: The Gumby was created 15 minutes before my run at the AFA contest, San Diego Ca in 1985. I was just messing around with a Handstand and twisted under the bike and waved as my mom was taking pictures. She insisted I do it in my run so it was the first I did. I had just signed up with Haro and since I was riding the Neon Green Master the "Gumby" was the perfect fit. 1985 AFA MASTERS ROUND 1.
