Ian: I was born in Bangor, North Wales and I my first language is Welsh.
Ian: I got my first BMX bike when I was eleven years old. I just rode with my friends from school.
We mainly rode street and dirt, but not really dirt-jumping--just riding in the woods. We mainly did wheelies on the street and jumped bricks.

Will Smyth, Dig january 2006: The first cover shot was of Ian Morris doing a Canadian nosepick on the 'outside' ramp of the now defunct Radlands in Northampton. It's brilliant, abstract nature looked like a purposeful statement of intent for Dig to always give a different view of BMX. In actual fact, it was just pure flook. The photo was taken by Percy Dean who's a skateboarder. He is also now the editor of Document. He didn't really have much knowledge of bike tricks, he was just standing too close to the coping, so when Ian's backwheel swung round it hit Percy's camera sending it flying to the floor and accidently firing the shutter.

Ian Morris leaves Seventies/Backyard. Launches own venture.
Ian Morris, www.fatbmx, march 2006: After over 10 years of working with Seventies/Backyard and Stuart Dawkins I have decided to leave the company to launch my own venture. I will resign from my position as co-director of Seventies on March 28th this year. This is one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make. This role has given me the opportunity to work with many great people and develop some great friendships throughout the BMX world. As a result these have been the most exciting years of my life. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Stuart and Seventies/Backyard all the best for the future.
Ian Morris, may 2010: I was pretty excited when John Povah spoke to me about a possibility of a position as etnies BMX European Team Manager. I have ridden in etnies shoes ever since my early days on the team, and the chance to further build and promote the European BMX team is one I couldn't turn down. Etnies have been a great supporter of BMX for a long time and I look forward to helping them evolve over the next few years.
