A lot of riders showed up in all classes. Amateur classes were filled better than last year, with lots of riders from both the Czech Republic and Hungary. Expert class level was high with some original tricks by Andras Balogh (HUN), Alex Gurbig (DE) and David Hoffman (DE) who took 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. The crew from Eberswalde all took top ten places: John Kramer, Benny Hill, Rene Bohm and Kevin Brabant were there to represent the flatland capital of the former DDR.
In Master class David Nagy from Hungary took first place with some great combos, Dominik Nekolny not only had solid tricks to take second place but also some awesome tatoos! Denes Katona from Hungary took third place. Peter Sore and Pal Varga were two more riders from Hungary to take top ten places. Milan Haspeklo qualified with a very nice run but let it all slip through his hands in the finals so he took the fifth place back to the Czech Republic. Shane Badman (that's a cool name: you're Bad man!) came over from Australia (yes, there are more flatlanders there than just Simon) to take seventh place and our pocket rocket Dez from Holland took sixth place.
In Pro class American Boy Wonder Justin Miller destroyed all doubts as to who's the man to beat and took the win. His finals run started off with some touches but superpower signature tricks like his backpacker kickflip killed everyone and everything else. Martti Kuoppa, the Finnish Flatland Magician rode a very solid run to take second place. Martti may be running his own bike company, he still progresses and dropped some crazy shit! Adam Kun took third place, much respect to this Hungarian Flatland Maestro, he is climibing rapidly in my personal "favorite rider list"! FLATtv rider Sebastian "Seppl" Pospischil took fourth place with a super technical run with lots of whiplash variations and combos. Keelan Philips totally lost it and fucked up his run to take the last place in pro. He told me he put too much pressure on himself to equal the succeses he had earlier this year, winning Ninja Spin and placing top three at Circle Cow. We'll see how he will do at Flat Ring in Paris this September, hopefully this nice English lad can get his act together!
Best trick was a very interesting affair. All the pros touched, so in the end the only rider who completed a combo was Markus Reich, and he rides Master Class, but in the end, Matthias Dandois pulled a crazy, crazy combo with his behind-the-back spinning hitchhiker and all so he took that prize home to France!
It was a good contest. We had perfect weather, two great parties, a good contest. What more can we ask for? Special thanx again to Sabine Ruhrberg for the press pass! Bis nachstes Jahr!

Thierry Tillot, www.eastreet.fr, july 2006: Gros riding aussi chez les masters avec la grosse surprise, victoire de Pascal Bacuet qui à envoyer du gros dont un énorme 360 du spine au funbox en transfert et ice pick au dessus du wall. Derrière ça a chargé aussi avec le hollandais Pim van den bos qui a envoyer un gros transfert en whip et en turndown. Bruno Hoffman (All), gros whip et un énorme transfert courbe plan incliné en 180 de 5m de long au moins. Jacob Jansson ( Swe) flip et flip turndown sur le spine. Enfin Liam Hutchinson (Uk) passe de superbes flips whip sur le spine.
Thierry Tillot, www.eastreet.fr, july 2006: Pour la finale pro street, il n’y aura pas de qualif, donc 58 riders à passer, moins les blessés de la veille soit Ben Wallace, Watkinson et Guettler et moins aussi Mark Webb qui a cassé son bike sur le mini. Ce fût long, mais comme y avait pas de qualif, ils ont dû tous envoyer direct, Les tricks en vrac: Mark Vos (Nl) et Brendan Jones (Aus) Fufanu barrière, flip whip par Michael Beran (Cz) et Alessandro Barbero (It), du flair par plusieurs riders, des gros gros vol par Sam Ward, un anglais bien vénère et Chris Doyle, vraiment énorme. Osato, canadian nose pick sur la Jersey barrière et downside tooth pick sur le wall Suzuki. Mike Miller trop de style en 360 invert sur le spine et énorme 360 whip sur le funbox. Tooth pick whip sur le sub ride par Mark König, Transfert Manual et Transfert fufanu sur le jersey barrière par Hannu Cool. L’anglais super tech qui enchaine axel stall to pedal stall sur le sub rail, soit un bunny hop d’au moins 1m en partant d’un axel. Bref du gros, du gros et du gros.

Thierry Tillot, www.eastreet.fr, july 2006: Qualification Mini rampe pro: C’est le début du massacre, Mark Webb le gagnant du Cruzer tour de l’année dernière montre que c’est bien lui le patron sur cette rampe et donc un très gros riding de Mark avec Flair, flair Xup, 540 huricane blunt, 540 bus, 360 whip, double whip to tail tap. Tous les autres sont vraiment un cran au-dessous de lui, ce qui donne:
Ben Wallace (UK): gros downside whip, flair
Mark Koening (D): du tech comme tooth pick whip et 360 whip
Juan Ruiz (SP): flair et whip
Hector Garcia (Mex): Air bien poussé comme look back
Phil Aller (UK): Whip, 360 et énorme fufanu sur la barrière, la plateforme faisant 1,25m.
Mike Miller (UK): gros air surpoussé, look back, look down.
Osato (CAN): un peu décevant, un whip drop in, whip spine et du tech
Guettler (CAN): de même, un peu de tech. En plus on ne le reverra plus rouler, car il se blesse au practice street.
Chris Doyle (US) a oublié de venir dommage.
Bommel (D) qui ridait fort, c’est tué au practice sur un axel grind one foot débile.
Thierry Tillot, www.eastreet.fr, july 2006: Finale mini rampe pro: Là on assiste à une véritable orgie, un vrai truc de dingue.
Bruce Crisman roule sans frein et sans chaine et envoi quand même du gros sur cette mini braun bien grosse. 360 spine, invert, turndown.
Chris Doyle: 360 tail tap to ice pick sur le sub, gros cancan no foot sur le spine et un énorme fakie air bus to turndown.
Mike Miller toujours du style, lookback, turndown et gros whip.
Tony Watkinson, le rider twenty, passe double whip en courbe, turndown to whip, et un énorme cross footed double whip en courbe.
Michael Beran tape des 360 nose dive bien vertical sur le spine, 360 whip sur le spine, et flair et n’a que 16ans.
Hector Garcia bon vol en look back, bus, turndown, et tente whip to tail tap sur le sub.
Hannu Cool, toujours avec du tech à la Hannu avec 360 nose pick foot jam sur le spine, alley oops look back to tail tap. Ice pick to 270 drop et ice pick to fackie sur le sub.
Mark König tape aussi dans le tech avec downside whip to tail tap, tooth pick whip sur la courbe et over tooth pick whip sur le spine.
Brendan Jones, l’australien va très haut avec des gros look back, de grosse hauteur sur le spine et tentative de gros whip à 2m.
Dave Osato: whip en drop, 360 whip et un peu de tech, style bus to nose pick et tentative de whip to nose pick et un 720 sur le spine.
Phil Aller: Fait comme d’habitude, plus un beau whip to ice pick. Il remassacre la barriere un fufanu en 10 essais au moins, mais il faisait plus noir, donc plus dur d’apprécier la distance.
Ben Wallace: downside whip à 2m, gros whip, flair à 2m, variation de 360 sur le spine.
Mark Webb: Flair de fou, 360 condor sur le spine, 360 whip, double whip to tail tap. Pour le last trick, il passe comme ligne whip to ice pick sur le sub, puis 360 whip sur le spine, puis passe double whip to tail tap to jeter de vélo.
Après c’est du n’importe quoi Wallace se fait des vols strato en flair à plus de 2m, jusqu’à se fracasser. Watkinson tente triple whip en courbe et fini par se faire mal, mais il n’est vraiment pas loin de réussir.
Et Mark Webb enchaine les flairs. 6 de suite, avec un Xup dans l’avant dernier et le dernier en bas de le courbe à même pas 1m et double whip to tail tap to ice pick to fakie, to backward downside whip.

Alessandro Caro fait le même chose qu’au practise et rajoute un 720 à sa palette de tricks. Bibi enchaine 360 whip, 360 cancan no foot, flip whip. Matt Mcleod rentre flip whip sur la dernière bosse. Comme Patoch qui en plus passera le double whip. Axel Jurgen barrel roll sur la dernière et Alex Etzold, Rider khe tente encore 360 flip sans succès.
