We recently hired BMX industry player and all-around good guy Mike Collins to be our team manager and customer service guru. Mike started working at SNAFU from his home office in Oklahoma City on July 1, but will be moving to southern California on July 28th to work with Bill and McGoo full time. Before accepting the position at SNAFU, Mike Collins worked with Steve Swope and Mat at Hoffman Bikes. Mike assisted Steve Swope with all contest management for the ESPN X Games, CFB events, the Soul Bowl series and dozens of other freestyle contests and shows around the world. Mike is of course a good bike rider himself, and is looking forward to working with all the SNAFU pros and blue collar ams on our current program. One of Mike's first jobs at SNAFU will be to improve our communication and sponsorship with team riders and to assist local skateparks and event promotors with promotion and products.

Mike Collins, www.fatbmx.com, january 2005: Dave Freimuth helped pretty much design that together with McGoo. I came into the picture when the ball was rolling on that. It’s Teflon bearing based, it’s all completely smooth and rounded, the cables sink into it so there’s nothing sticking out, it’s a really nice piece and it’s affordable. Hopefully the product managers from big bike companies will notice and start speccing them.

www.fatbmx.com, may 2012: Snafu has been sold and is under new ownership. Matt Bischoff has been hired as new Brand Manager. Snafu brand manager Harold "McGoo" McGruther approached Bischoff regarding the SNAFU takeover last winter. After 13 years at the helm of the boutique brand he co-founded in 1999, the 50-year-old bike-industry veteran simply chose to pursue other business interests. Matt Bischoff has been a part of the SNAFU team since the brand's inception in 1999, and brings to the program a wealth of enthusiasm and experience. Matt's new responsibilities with SNAFU include sales, product development, team and brand management. Expect some new and fresh things coming very soon from SNAFU.
Matt Bischoff, www.snafubmx.com, may 2012: The news came out today that Mcgoo is moving on, SNAFU has been sold, and I am proud to announce that I am the new Brand Manager of SNAFU. I have been riding bikes since I was a child. I had an older brother who raced BMX and I thought is was super cool. Following in the footsteps of my brother I wanted to race BMX. Racing led to dirt jumping. Dirt jumping led to street riding, street riding led me to ramp riding and the cycle continues. I have dedicated my life to BMX. My entire life has revolved around it. Building trails, owning my own house so I could build trails and ramps, coming up with The Backyard Buildoff Contest idea and getting Red Bull onboard for those contests. I am always thinking about BMX. In the 90s I started making videos and ended up starting a fun tee shirt company. In 1999 I ended up having a dream come true and getting my first sponsor.... SNAFU. I was super stoked, and have met some of my Best friends from being with SNAFU. One of my best friends is Mcgoo. Mcgoo is one of the funniest, raddest and smartest dudes I know. Because of Mcgoo and my relationship with the SNAFU family, I was able to learn the ropes to start my own brand in 2005. Failure was born, and it wouldnt have been possible without the help of Mcgoo and SNAFU. SNAFU has helped me out in so many ways and because of my History with the brand, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to be involved with the brand longterm. After years as a rider for the brand, I am proud to have moved on to becoming the Brand Manager of SNAFU. Mcgoo is busy doing other things in his life and I will continue to learn from him even though he has retired from the BMX Industry. I am so thankful that I have been able to turn my life and my passion... BMX.... into what I do for a living. I am grateful that the new owners of the brand have have put faith in me to head up the brand and take SNAFU in an exciting new direction. Be on the lookout for lots of new things to come from SNAFU in 2012 and beyond.
